Dear Camote

Guatemala August 4 of 2011

Dear Camote.

How are you? I haven’t heard from you for a few of months. My father called your dad yesterday and he told him that you are studying at the Centro Escolar El Roble right nowand that you are in the first year of the IB studies. I know what you are feeling and what you are thinking about the IB because I also went through the same and this is my last year of IB before the quizzes. It has become very difficult and I have to do my best in all the classes because my IB exams are in November, and if you look right now it is September, only two months for the quizzes!! And there are many things that I have to study and make the final corrections in the laboratories and projects. I write this letter because your father told my father that the IB has become a pain in the neck for you because you don’t find the how to administrate your time doing the laboratories and mayor projects for the IB plus the homework that all the teachers give you every day and that you are disorganized and can’t prepare what to do in the afternoon when you are at home, so you get depressed for the amount of work and you don’t finish any homework or laboratory very well, so then you get a low grade in both activities.

I recommend you to buy an agenda or if you have it take notes of all the tasks that the teachers give to you in both homework and IB projects. This will help you to organize the homework of the week and day, so you will be able to know what to do and for what day you must deliver the homework to the teacher and if you do this, you will have more time to correct all the assignments and improve the score. I recommend you to pay more attention to the classes and take all the notes possible because the IB opens new gates of opportunities to study in a great university around the world and also in your life when you are looking for a good job.

So in these two years of IB, you have to prepare yourself, don’t waste your time in other things that can distract you, find a balance between rest and work on the IB projects because you have to prepare yourself because the amount of hours that you have to study is enormous. I think with patience you will make a good job and you will get the diploma.

Good-bye.
