Mobile phones for students, should or should not they be banned at school?

Nowadays there is an increment in the percentage of teenagers using the cell phone in the school and this produces a bad performance in all the subjects. The reasons why this is happening are that they will have dependence, distraction with games and bad use of a cell phone. When you see a student with his phone is because he has dependence with the pone, so he then develops an addiction and the student will find the necessity to have the phone near to him. Students that have their phones with them every day make a distraction in the school. This distraction is caused by the games that the students download to their phones and they will play with them all day, so that causes a distraction on the student who won't pay attention to what the teacher is saying. Finally the students don’t know the real function of a cell phone in the school. They think that the only function that the phone has is playing games and chatting all day with a lot of people. The real function of a phone is to call someone in the family if there is an emergency, that is the real function but the students don’t use the cell phone for that. So in my opinion the use of cell phones in school should be banned because the students don’t make good use of it, causing distraction and dependence.
